The position executes a sales plan for the assigned territory and products to consistently meet or exceed sales budgets and goals. Territory Sales Representatives are expected to possess a high level of product, competitive, customer and territory knowledge. They are also expected to communicate with customers in the assigned territory on a regular basis and develop customer loyalty by having a maximum understanding of the customer’s needs. The Sales Representative prospects strategic accounts and identifies and develops new customers for Optovue.
Manages leads and sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
Conducts product demonstrations for doctors and staff members.
Installs instruments and trains customer staff on operation as necessary.
Educates doctors and staff on key product benefits and features.
Creates a solid referral base to increase sales and customer loyalty.
Generates leads by cold calling accounts.
Attends all company, regional and divisional meetings. Attendance is also expected at medical education programs, which may occur during evening hours and/or weekends.
Bachelor’s degree (life sciences background preferred) or equivalent combination of experience and education.
3 + years outside sales experience; medical industry or highly relatable field.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and scientific product-related information.
Strong sales documentation and professional references required; formal sales training a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise good business judgment and discretion and to analyze and address territory opportunities by building key customer relationships.
Computer Skills: proficiency in business software (MS Outlook, Word, Excel
Candidates must have a current valid driver’s license, collision and liability insurance for their vehicle and maintain a clean driving record.
Extensive travel and overnight stays are required in this position.
