Instrument Cleaning and Disinfection Procedures

Ocular Lens

The ocular lens should be cleaned weekly or more often if needed. A weak OCT signal or blurry video image may be caused by an unclean lens (eyelash, finger or nose prints, excessive dust or dirt from the environment).

Materials Required

Wet the microfiber cloth or swab with cleaning solution and wipe the ocular lens with circular motion.

Chin and Head Rests

The chin and head rest surfaces should be disinfected between each patient encounter.

Materials Required

Method

Soak the microfiber cloth or cleaning towel in the disinfecting solution or use a wet isopropyl alcohol cleaning wipe. Wipe the chin rest pad and head rest thoroughly and let air dry.

Exterior Surface of Scanner

Method

Soak the microfiber cloth or cleaning towel in the disinfecting solution or use a wet isopropyl alcohol cleaning wipe. Wipe the exterior surface of the scanner thoroughly and let air dry.
